St. Vincent de Paul Society
Our goal is to enhance the quality of life of those in need.
We furnish help in the form of food as well as money for utility bills, to the needy within our parish boundaries.
We also assist many organizations outside our parish, such as Guardian Angel Settlement, St. Agatha, St. Vincent's Church and Mother Theresa Missionaries of Charity in similar ways.
The St. Joan of Arc Conference of the SVdP is very blessed to have the resources to help those in need right now. Although there has been a gradual increase in requests for food, utility and rental assistance, we expect a tremendous surge over the next few months in households that have suffered from layoffs and furloughs. Some neighboring parishes are already short of funds, so we have been trying to assist them through the Archdiocesan Twinning Program. Most importantly, we want to meet the needs of our own parish community. We are particularly concerned about parishioners who have never been in this position of need before, and are not used to asking for help. Please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance. That’s why we’re here. If you know someone who needs help, tell them to contact us. You can e-mail svdp@stjoanofarcstl.com, or call the rectory at 314-832-2838. I can personally process your request pretty quickly over the phone, and respect your anonymity as well. The parish continues to support our work through donations of money and food. We expect this need to grow tremendously over the coming weeks, so you can still drop off food at church, or send donations to the rectory for St. Vincent de Paul.
